Infinix’s Note 40 series, the latest update to the long-running device series from the Chinese brand, has been launched in Kenya.
The Infinix Note 40 series comprises the standard Note 40 model. a Pro model and a “more advanced” Note 40 Pro+ 5G model.
“The Note 40 Series represents a significant advancement in Infinix’s All-Round FastCharge 2.0 technology, introducing innovations such as 100W Multi-Speed FastCharge, Wireless MagCharge, and a self-developed chip that supports multi-function charging modes,” a statement from the company says.
The Infinix Note 40 series carries over some of the advancements that we saw with its predecessor and building on those to bring new features as well. Like the 55° curved display protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass that is found on the Pro models (the standard Note 40 remains with a flat display). The 120Hz AMOLED display panel is also carried over from the past generation. While the display size and resolution have remained the same, the panel’s brightness goes all the way up to 1,300 nits, up from 900 on the previous series.
Infinix’s focus on the fast charging capabilities of the devices in this series is courtesy of the Cheetah X1 chip. Unveiled last month, the chip which Infinix has developed inhouse, allows the company to play around with various factors that influence battery usage and degradation while maintaining user safety and keeping up with demands for even faster charging.
Buyers of any of the three devices in Kenya will be happy to find a free fast wireless charging pad included with their retail packaging, something that we don’t see often. In fact, our first and only encounter for a device of this profile was in the Racing Edition of its predecessor that we have been sampling over the last few months as well.
There’s a slight bump in what comes in the box when it comes to the wired charger. The included adapter and cable allow for 70W fast charging, up from 68 on the Note 30.
There are also enhancements on the camera front with the Pro models getting optical image stabilization (OIS).
The Infinix Note 40 series arrives running Android 14 (XOS 14) right out of the box.
Pricing for the Infinix Note 40 starts at Kshs 31,099 for the standard model, Kshs 38,699 for Pro model and Kshs 49,199 for the top-of-the-line Pro+ model. The Pro+ model is expected to hit the local market mid next month (May). Both the standard and Pro models of the Note 40 are available for purchase through online and offline sales channels.
Infinix is offering a 180-day screen protection insurance with every model sold.
