July update for Galaxy S10 models in Kenya is now rolling out

It’s been two weeks since Samsung started rolling out July 2019 security updates to the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ handsets powered by its in-house Exynos chipset. As usual with OTA updates, it’s only now that the same software update is rolling out in Kenya.

Actually, the official changelog was published on the first day of this month, which makes it a week since the rollout started. The software arrives at a time when OnePlus and Google have already updated their devices to the latest August 2019 security patches. But in matters of timely software updates, we all know what we sign up for when buying a Samsung phone.

Nevertheless, it’s always better late than never, so we’ll take what Samsung brings, at least for now. All three Galaxy S10 variants are receiving the update with build number ASG8. The update is hovering in the regions of 400MB, so be sure to connect to a stable Wi-Fi network in order to download it flawlessly.

As for the changelog, it’s more of the same with what Samsung published with the June security patch. But given the size of the download, you’ll have to keep digging in there to find what Samsung has hidden in the new software.

With last month’s security patch rolling out in August, it remains to be seen when Samsung will release this month’s security update for Galaxy S10 users in the country. Even more interesting is the release of Android Q, an OS that both Google and OnePlus should be able to begin stable rollouts in the next few days or weeks for that matter.

To be fair, though, there are reports that Samsung has already started testing Android Q beta on the Galaxy S10, so there should be some hope of an early release, sort of.
